What is the interview dress code?
We are very casual at IKEA. We appreciate when someone knows our culture and feels comfortable dressing down for the interview.
Do I need to bring a resume to the interview?
No, but having a resume is always preferred and appreciated.
Do I need to apply online beforehand?
Applying beforehand is preferred as it helps to get you moving quickly through the process when you arrive. We'll have application stations available if you need to apply on-site.
Will I get an interview if I show up?
Yes! But we suggest that you arrive early since interviews are based on a first-come, first-serve basis.
When I get to the store, where should I go?
The majority of Retail Stores hold the hiring event interviews at the IKEA Restaurant. Each location will have a greeter and/or signage instructing candidates where to go. Visit or call your local store for specifics.
Since interviews are based on a walk-in basis, will I have to wait for long?
The wait time will vary depending on applicant arrival. However, after we sign you in, feel free to browse the store or grab a bite to eat at the IKEA Restaurant–we'll send you a text when your interview time is approaching.
How should I prepare for the interview?
Be ready to talk about your work history, what position you are interested in and why you'd be a good fit. It also helps to know our core values and to tell us why you want to work at IKEA. Learn more about IKEA values.
What qualities does IKEA look for in every candidate? We want to hire people who are interested in home furnishings, are attracted by our company values, and are friendly and willing to go the extra mile for our customers. Each position requires different skills, education, and proficiencies.
What do you expect candidates to know about IKEA before an interview?
